The two Cello Concertos Nino Rota – who would have had his one-hundredth birthday exactly this year – wrote, underline his naturally cinematographic character, but also his classical heart, the attention paid to the Russian orchestral palette, acts typical of Prokofiev, some winks to Stravinskij. They are well performed by Silvia Chiesa, who is passionate, sinuous, gentle, interwined with the RAI Orchestra conducted by Corrado Rovaris.
